Edible Austin – Mezcal with a Local Flavor
We are proud to be a women-led company and couldn’t have been more thrilled to sit down with one of our favorite local publications, Edible Austin, to talk about the rich heritage of mezcal and the unique authenticity of SUSTO.
“We think it’s the oldest distilled spirit in the Americas,” said (co-founder, Ingrid) Taylor. “It’s been used in religious and spiritual ceremonies for hundreds and hundreds of years. It’s rubbed on pregnant women’s bellies and used at weddings and quinceañeras. It’s very much about celebrations and rituals and traditions.”
